Workshops Todas entrelazadas: Empowering parents in the digital age

Technology for Spanish Speaking LatinX parents (13 one-hour lessons). This is offered virtually. If you wish in-person sessions, please check for availability. This curriculum guides parents with no knowledge of the internet to be able to learn and practice technology that both helps them in daily life and allows them to better interact with their children and the schools to support their children’s academic success. This workshop format introduces key areas of technology in a hands-on fashion, with ample time for practice. Each participant will receive a manual with step by step reminders and visuals for each activity. A video of each lesson is available for additional support.

Bilingual STEM/ STEAM Summer Camps.

These camps run for one week, 60 minutes per day for five days. These hands-on, engaging projects use everyday household items to encourage exploration and discovery. Here are some of the STEM projects available. There are more to choose from. Making your own slime (Chemistry)
Water color experiment (Biology) Marshmallow and toothpick bridges (Engineering) Painting with magnets (Physics) Building a raft (Engineering)

Bilingual Coding Camp K-5

One two-hour session. This workshop teaches basic coding and programming skills and helps teach algorithms. Kids will also learn cause-effect and directional language. These robotic bees can carry out up to 200 commands, including moving forward/backward and turning left/right.

Family Engagement Workshops: Literacy, Math and STEM. One evening for two hours in person

Designed for parent child interaction and collaboration. This is the perfect opportunity for parents to explore literacy, math and science concepts alongside their children. All necessary materials are available for purchase, and activities will be guided.

Enrichment Art Projects

Creative projects that are designed for after school programs, summer camps, enrichment programs and community events. All activities come from the most popular cultural celebrations in Mexico.

  • The arts support students in developing problem-solving techniques, which can help them see the world in new ways and gain access to varied ways of knowing. Art education often leads to improvements in motivation, thinking and academic achievement.

  • These art projects focus on Hispanic heritage and help students proudly embrace their culture and identity.

STEAM Workshop Series

Use fun, engaging and intriguing hands-on projects to help students understand concepts in chemistry, physics, engineering, biology, robotics and more!

  • These workshops are designed around commercially available kits.

  • The kits are in English but all components have been translated into Spanish. 
  • Each presentation also includes a Spanish-language video that guides participants step by step.
